“We are extremely happy to announce Hilde Methi as curator of LIAF 2019. She has recently completed several interesting projects, their common denominator being thorough research, long-term collaboration with artists, and an orchestration of meetings between art and audiences in innovative ways. We really look forward to collaborating with Hilde Methi and her curatorial team!”
(Helga-Marie Nordby, Chair, LIAF Artistic Advisory Board and Svein Ingvoll Pedersen, Director, North Norwegian Art Centre)
Hilde Methi will work with a curatorial team consisting of:
Neal Cahoon, Karolin Tampere and Torill Østby Haaland.
The curatorial team about the concept:
“With an eye on each arm, LIAF 2019 will be realised in several areas of the Lofoten archipelago over a number of months. We’ll start by inviting four artists or artist groups to work in both the Eastern and Western regions of the islands. Artistic process and a sensitivity to materials will form the basis of a series of local productions, the processes of which will give direction to a collection of entangled exhibitions during LIAF in September 2019”
