Our next IBA Stage, taking place on Wednesday 12th October at 6.30PM (Amsterdam/GMT+1) wants to give all our members, especially those who sadly won’t be able to join us in Prishtina for the upcoming 9th General Assembly, a glimpse of Manifesta14. It is our great pleasure to have with us, presenting the project and outlining Manifesta’s approach Hedwig Fijen, Founding Director of Manifesta Foundation and one of the driving forces behind the project in Prishtina.

Hedwig Fijen studied History and History of Art at the University of Amsterdam. She is the founding director of Manifesta, the nomadic European biennial, since its origin in Rotterdam in 1993. Over this period, Fijen has transformed the biennial from a contemporary art platform into an interdisciplinary platform for social cultural change. For her work in the field of European cultural developments she has recently been appointed as an Officer in the Order Oranje-Nassau by the the King of the Netherlands.
