Introducing Our New Executive Board Members!

Last Tuesday, in the occasion of the opening of the 60th Venice Biennale – Foreigners Everywhere – we gathered for our 21st Board Meeting. During this meeting, our long serving Vice Presidents, Bige Örer and Gabriele Horn, announced that they would step down as from their positions on our Executive Board. Both have been inspiring figures in their biennials as well as our organisation which they have contributed in shaping as founding members. We are extremely grateful for their vision, passion and invaluable insights which made IBA what it is today. While Bige Örer has decided to step down from all her IBA roles Gabriele Horn will remain as a Board Member for the time being.

At the same time, we are extremely excited to welcome our two new Executive Board Members, Barbara Moore (CEO at Biennale of Sydney) and Samantha Lackey (Director of Liverpool Biennial). Barb and Sam have a great knowledge of IBA as they have served multiple years as Board Members and are sure to bring novel ideas and energy to the association. We are certain that their commitment will help us open a great new chapter in the association’s history with, starting with some upcoming news regarding changes in our Working Committees that will be shared soon.

We also want to take a moment to congratulate Archie Moore and the whole team of the Australian Pavillion as well as Mataaho Collective for their Golden Lion!
