It is with a heavy heart that the office and Executive Board of the International Biennial Association (IBA) offers our deepest sympathies and solidarity to the populations in Turkey and Syria affected by the recent Kahramanmaras earthquake and the immeasurable destruction and loss of life throughout the whole region.
Words cannot convey the weight of this tragedy and our thoughts are all those brave souls dedicating all their forces to provide aid that will continue to be necessary in the coming days, weeks and months.
Though the damage suffered by these communities is beyond grasp, we firmly believe that as an international community we can come together and provide support and relief.
As an organisation operating globally, we encourage our members and supporters to show their support however they can to the rescue efforts though a wide range of solidarity initiatives as pointed out to by our members located in and around the affected area as well as the many other cultural institutions operating in the region.
