Special IBA Conversations

Come and join us on the 23rd of September to keep shaping IBA as your space for discussing and sharing the most relevant topics affecting biennial making globally. Eight years ago, when we first all met in Berlin, we gathered under the motto: Why Biennials? Why Associate? Since then, every General Assembly was devised around a key question or topic which we felt was reflecting the state of biennials around the world.

This year we want to do things differently. Building on the experience of IBA Conversations, our first continuous public program, which has seen an amazing participation and response from the whole IBA community. IBA Conversations has given us a chance to get a glimpse at projects we couldn’t reach but also, and more importantly, a safe space to discuss all the pressing matters of how to keep reimagining our programs in ever more meaningful ways.

Therefore, in preparation for our upcoming General Assembly (October 20th and 21st) we want to gather once more to shape our program according to what you feel are the most pressing issues. Whether it is funding, strengthening mutual collaborations, environmental concerns, how to find a balance between freedom of speech / cancel culture or any other theme on your mind.
