IBA Newsletter: June 2016

Dear members,

We extend our many thanks to all of the members who joined us in Milan for our 3rd General Assembly, May 30 – June 2. Hosted by La Triennale di Milano and organized by the IBA Office, “Culture Beyond the Wars. The Wars Shall Not Destroy Culture” was a success as IBA members from 43 countries met for discussions and productive meetings. The theme of culture preservation in times of international conflict brought about discussions of the internal immigrant, the economic strengths and weaknesses of biennial making and the importance of understanding the biennial audience.

The June newsletter provides information about the 22 current and upcoming member biennials, as well as other upcoming meetings, including the IBA International Congress and 6th Board Meeting that will take place this September 3 and 4 in Shanghai, China, hosted by Shanghai Project in association with PSA (Power Station of Art).

Editorial Board Meetings for 1st Annual Publication
The editorial board discussed the publication with those members in attendance at the General Assembly in Milan on May 31. They will meet again via video conference later this month to continue the publication’s planning and design.
