In the occasion of the 15th Sharjah Biennial “Thinking Historically in the present”, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of IBA President Hoor Al Qasimi‘s presidence of Sharjah Art Foundation and the Biennial, IBA Stage has taken place in front of a live audience for the first time. Invited to the discussion were: artist and educator Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons, also presenting a newly commissioned work at Sharjah Biennial 15, and Octavio Zaya, curator and art critic who was one of the participants of Sharjah Biennial 15 working group.

With the second panel, the conference opens a question to those cultural institutions currently dealing with areas of conflict and war zones, in an attempt to understand how the idea of education can oppose conflictual parties, without renouncing specific partisanship.
